Be the change you want to see

A  powerful few words but how does one put them to practice?

A few months ago I was challenged and elected as President of the Youth Association at branch level. This is a post that I have never been in yet the Youth of Khayelitsha United Presbyterian Church placed me in it, cause they may have seen something I do not see in myself,  and put me to task and I have been challenged ever since.

I sit with a very capable youth at my branch yet there seems to be no progress, be it spiritually or otherwise. I have been praying since induction and asking God to assist me in finding ways to motivate not only me but the KUC youth to be the strong and powerful unit they once were.

Then it dawned to me that in order for them to be powerful and work together they needed a leader that was such and these words rang in my heart through prayer" BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE" but where do I begin?

Lord father help me be the change that You want to see within the KUCYA. I had to list down all that I believed God wants to see in the Youth and in me.

 It came to me, it all begins with knowing and understanding his word - The Bible. As much as I may claim to know the bible through the Sunday sermons, there are chapters that I know not of. I then challenged myself to read the bible book by book, chapter by chapter, line by line and word for word. This is one of the things I would love to see change within the KUCYA - that they know and understand the word of God for themselves.

And my journey begins as President of the Khayelitsha United Presbyterian Church Youth Association with the book of Genisis,,

Join in and Pray for us the KUC Youth Association, pray for the Branch executive that leads these Young people and Pray with me to stay strong and be the change that God wants to see in his church.

FOR THE LOVE OF YA

As we received an assignment from tech to create a blog and ensure that it had followers. I sat back and thought what is it that I really love and who are the people that I could get interested in something... Only one group of people and one passion came to mind YOUTH ASSOCIATION.

The love and the passion that we share not only for each other but for God speaks volumes and I thought would this not be lovely, to create a blog page where we can motivate and share our love for anything and everything...
